Vocational Teacher

Kainuu Vocational College seeks a temporary teacher for integration education for a fixed-term period from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027 or as agreed. The role involves guiding and teaching integration education based on the curriculum, requiring good experience in guiding students from diverse language and cultural backgrounds. We value strong, diverse experience in teaching languages to immigrants, collaboration with working life, and individual and group guidance, as well as a linguistically oriented workflow. A driver's license is required for the role. Tasks include teaching language and communication skills, teaching societal and work-life skills, guiding students’ educational and career planning, teaching basic information technology skills and guiding the use of various applications, and acting as a personal tutor. In Kainuu Ammattiopisto the guidance and teaching work is planned and implemented through collaboration of teachers; we value good teamwork and a development-oriented approach, flexibility and enthusiasm for using diverse guidance methods in cooperation with the team and the world of work. Qualifications follow the Decree on Qualifications of Higher Education Teaching Staff 986/1998 (as amended 1150/2017) and require a higher education degree suitable for the field. Shortlisted applicants may be considered even if they do not meet all qualifications. The chosen candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act 504/2002 and, when requested, a drug test certificate. There is a six-month probationary period.
