Do you have a heart for development work, S2/R2 teaching and equal opportunities for students? Raaseporin kaupunki seeks a fixed-term project coordinator for the Fere Tabula Rasa project from 15.9.2026 to 31.12.2027 (or by agreement). The project is a joint effort between Raasepori, Hangö, Ingå and Sjundeå, with Raasepori acting as the lead municipality. The aim is to build a joint, sustainable bilingual model for Finnish/Swedish as a second language and literature teaching. We seek someone who sees project work as an opportunity to create something lasting. Fere Tabula Rasa starts almost from a blank slate – but not without direction. The goal is to strengthen teachers’ competencies, standardise practices and build a model that serves basic education in the region also after the project period. In this role you are the project’s engine in daily work – and at the same time its heart. The steering group guides and supports operations, but the coordinator has a central role in taking the project plan into practice, proactively, inspiring and collaboratively. According to the project plan, the coordinator’s duties include mapping the municipalities’ starting points, collecting best practices, organising trainings and consulting Finnish- and Swedish-language schools. The tasks include: mapping current conditions and compiling existing good practices into a common base; jointly with municipalities building durable, bilingual models to support S2-/R2-teaching; planning and coordinating trainings in both national languages; consulting schools and teachers in adopting best practices; supporting updating local curricula to project goals; collecting, producing and publishing teaching support materials; monitoring progress, documenting activities, and providing information to the steering group to aid decision-making; ensuring that the project outcomes endure beyond the project period. Requirements: excellent mastery of one native language and at least good mastery of the other native language; experience in basic education, development of teaching or S2 teaching-related work; ability to work independently and translate plans into practical actions; ability to guide, train and inspire staff; ability to structure large entities, document work and produce clear materials; interest in bilingual education, integration and language-aware teaching. Desirable: experience in municipal education administration, project work, curriculum work and development of multilingual and language-aware teaching. We offer a meaningful role where you can influence four municipalities’ joint basic education development work, the chance to build a new operating culture, support teachers in day-to-day work and strengthen students’ learning prospects in both national languages. The results aim for lasting impact on the region’s schools and how education is organised. The position: Project Coordinator; Employer: Raaseporin kaupunki; Project: Fere Tabula Rasa; Duration: 15.9.2026–31.12.2027; Working hours: office hours, 36.25 h/week; Salary: 3700 €/month; Employment terms: KVTES; Remote work: partially possible; Work region: Raasepori, Hangö, Ingå and Sjundeå; Health certificate to be shown within the first month; Probation period: six months.
