Käpylän Pallo ry (KäPa) is seeking a dynamic Executive Director. Käpylän Pallo ry is a longstanding and respected football club founded in 1956 and based in Helsinki. The club is especially known for its top-level youth development and strong player pathway from Nappulaliiga to adult national leagues. Each week, we involve hundreds of children, young people and adults in an expert environment at KäPa Campus, where sporting quality and professionalism are central to our work. In the 2027–2028 season, we will be a Finnish Football Association partner club (category 2) and are also strongly involved in the Huuhkaja-Helmaripolku (Eerikkilä–SPL E Academy). As our long-serving Executive Director retires, we are seeking an Executive Director for a permanent position. Your duties and areas of responsibility: As Executive Director, you will be responsible for the club’s operational management, administration and overall finances. Your task is to ensure the club’s financial stability and create the conditions for implementing its sports strategy, developing coaching and strengthening the player pathway. You will be supported by ten full-time, committed and skilled employees whose work focuses on coaching and administration. Your main duties include: • Overall financial responsibility: budgeting, cash-flow management, developing financial monitoring and reporting to the club board. • Resourcing sports activities: close cooperation with sports leadership and coaching directors to ensure sporting objectives and financial resources are optimally aligned. • Strategic development: expanding the club’s financial operating conditions through, among other things, partnerships and fundraising. • Operational leadership: managing the club’s full-time staff and ensuring the smooth running of sports support functions. • Stakeholder relations: representing the club and working with stakeholders such as the Finnish Football Association, the City of Helsinki and others involved in the club’s activities. • Organising events (Spring Tournament–Pingviini Cup and Winter League). What we expect from you: To succeed in the role, you need persistence and the ability to “gracefully resist the press” when everyday situations sometimes take you by surprise. You also need a genuine understanding of what it takes to run competitive sport and top-level junior football. We hope you have: • Proven experience in financial administration, budgeting and cost-effective organisational management. • Familiarity with MyClub, Visma, TMS, Pelipaikka and Taso. • A deep understanding of how sports clubs operate and the demands of competitive and elite sport. • Education suited to the role, for example in business, financial administration or sports management. • The ability to lead an expert organisation and work smoothly with coaches, volunteers and commercial partners. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. What we offer: We offer varied and independent work, as well as an opportunity to see the work of one of Finland’s significant talent-development clubs up close. Your work will have a tangible impact on the local community, and you will be able to influence how KäPa develops in the coming years, both as a club and as a sporting pioneer. We also offer a supportive and community-minded working environment that values initiative and new ideas, as well as pleasant and skilled colleagues. Application instructions and further information: The position is full-time and permanent. The start date will be agreed. Submit your application through the Finnish Football Association’s Recright system by 13 November 2026. For further information, contact the club board chair, Marko Syväkari, by phone at 0400 488225. Join us in securing Käpylän Pallo’s continued success and development!
