About the role

In this role, you will contribute to the implementation, execution, and analysis of quantum error correction experiments on superconducting quantum processors. You will develop features for the Quantum Computer Control Software stack, evaluate QEC protocols, model error processes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support IQM’s roadmap toward scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computing.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, execute, analyse, and report results of quantum error correction benchmark and demonstration experiments on superconducting quantum processors
  • Develop features for the Quantum Computer Control Software stack
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of QEC protocols and decoding approaches
  • Model and analyse error processes in quantum circuits and hardware experiments
  • Identify technology stack requirements for QEC experimentation and propose improvements
  • Collaborate closely with experimental, theoretical, and software teams
  • Participate in team discussions to coordinate experiments and analyze results

Requirements

  • Experience calibrating qubits and QPUs (superconducting preferred)
  • Experience with quantum error correction experiments and data analysis
  • Software engineering experience in Python
  • Understanding of quantum information and QEC theory
  • Experience with tools for modelling errors in quantum circuits
  • Familiarity with quantum control hardware
