Childcare Worker

A temporary position at Kilterin daycare in Vantaa for a family leave replacement from 10 August 2026 to 31 December 2026. The job is three-shift work in an around-the-clock daycare. You will provide a diverse pedagogical program for children during everyday moments, including in evenings and weekends. We value meeting and valuing every child as their own person, with a focus on small-group pedagogy, child participation and being heard, and positive pedagogy. Our practice also emphasizes unhurried time, allowing children to think and reflect. ICT-enabled pedagogy, music, artistic expression and physical activity are embedded in daily life. Kilterin daycare has 32 early childhood educators; our work community is relaxed and positive, with staff who are capable, engaged and willing to take responsibility for everyday situations and decisions. Collaboration and mutual respect are important to us. The daycare is located in Myyrmäki, Vantaa, with modern, single-level premises, including a large gym, atelier and a nature-exploration room, plus a large two-story yard suitable for outdoor pedagogy. There are seven groups of children. The role involves a full-time schedule (38h15min/week) with three shifts. Employment type: Fixed-term; start 10.08.2026; end 31.12.2026. Qualifications: Childcare worker qualification under the Varhaiskasvatuslaki; strong Finnish language skills (spoken and written). Experience with shift work is advantageous. Salary: 2610.95–2684.59 EUR/month, with 3–8% seniority bonus. Required documents include a criminal background check and possible drug test; TB screening for those working with pre-school children.
