Unit Manager

We are seeking a unit manager for the Salmela Service Centre in Turku for a permanent contract starting 1 January 2027. Salmela provides housing services and support services for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and sign-language–using clients. The centre also runs daytime activities and provides home care services to clients’ homes. Our clients are deaf sign language users, hard-of-hearing, or people who need special support in communication, mainly older adults. There are 32 clients under our care and about 30 staff in total. As the manager you will oversee the organisation of operations for the unit in accordance with the conditions of the granted operating license and the services described in contracts with service buyers, ensuring that ordinary life of clients and their individual services are delivered with high quality. You will handle administrative tasks in cooperation with the foundation’s support teams. You will act as the employer’s representative and as a supervisor to the staff of the service centre. Staff well-being is a key part of your job. The service centre’s team leader supports your work.
