Hello AAC facilitator, are modern assistive device solutions and working with communication aids for children, youths and adults of interest to you? This is an excellent opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team and the university hospital community. Apply to be an AAC facilitator at the Assistive Devices Center Tekoteek. As an AAC facilitator at Tekoteek you will be responsible for personalizing and transferring communication portfolios, guiding clients and close contacts, participating in guidance of communication applications and individualizing the contents of electronic picture boards. You will collaborate with various partners including customers’ close persons and rehabilitation speech therapists. You will also participate in ordering communication devices, handling paper consultations and independently planning your own work schedule. As part of Tekoteek you help develop work processes and operations. When needed, we have a multidisciplinary workgroup (AAC facilitator/communication interpreter for speech-impaired, technical expert and occupational therapist). We serve both children and adults in the HUS region. Transfers and guidance of communicational devices mostly take place at Tekoteek, but your work may include occasional visits to everyday environments. Tekoteek premises are in Ruskeasuo at Invalidiliitto’s barrier-free meeting house. Some guidance is delivered through a combination of on-site presence and remote connection. We value: a familiarity with supportive and compensatory communication methods and good collaboration skills. At the start we will train you for the role. Experience with people with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum conditions is advantageous.
