Trainee Veterinarian

Kalajoki City’s environmental health jointly administered area is advertising a Praktikkoeläinlääkäri viransijaisuus. The substitute position covers the Kalajoen city and Merijärvi municipality area as well as part of Ylivieskan on-call area. The role is assigned to Kalajoen veterinary reception. Kalajoen City acts as the responsible municipality and provides veterinary services in the area of Raahen and Kalajoen cities and Merijärvi, Pyhäjoki and Siikajoki municipalities. There are a total of 8 trainee veterinarian positions, 2 supervising veterinarians and 2 animal attendants. Services are divided into two regions. The southern service area comprises Kalajoki and Merijärvi. The area’s small animals are treated at the Kalajoki reception. The job includes on-call duties with enhanced compensation; on-call periods may vary and weekends can be shared. On-call area includes Kalajoki, Merijärvi and part of Ylivieska’s on-call area. Qualification requires licensed Finnish veterinarian or temporary professional practice rights granted by Ruokavirasto. The position requires B-driving license and own car, and good Finnish language skills in spoken and written form. The salary for the position is 3183.13 €/month.
