JobCrawls Data Desk
Which line can you stand in? Jobs in Finland by required language
Updated 2 October 2026 · Updated monthly from live job data

Every job listing in Finland falls into one of three lines by the language it requires. On 2 October 2026, 9,127 jobs (65%) required Finnish but not English, 3,039 (22%) required both, and 1,665 (12%) required English but not Finnish. If you don't speak Finnish, yours is by far the shortest line.
We counted every active job listing located in Finland in the JobCrawls database on 2 October 2026 (13,948 listings). A posting cross-listed on several job boards counts once. The requirement is what each posting itself states. "Both" means Finnish and English are both mandatory, which is a stricter bar than either alone, not a choice between them. 117 listings that require another language or none are not shown.
"Finnish only" means English isn't listed as a requirement; many of those workplaces still use English day to day. Likewise, English-only jobs may still value Finnish. Swedish is required in some jobs, especially on the west coast, and appears alongside Finnish in many of them. For the same split field by field, see our breakdown of language requirements by field.
