50% of non-senior jobs in hands-on fields come through a staffing agency

Of the 6,306 active intern, junior and mid-level jobs in construction, logistics, manufacturing, hospitality, cleaning, retail and customer support in Finland on 2 October 2026, 3,173 (50%) were posted by a staffing agency. The share is highest in construction & trades, at 65%. Agency ads rarely ask for a degree (2% of those that state an education level, against 9% for these jobs overall), and their advertised pay is about the same (median €2,271 vs €2,250 a month).

We counted active job listings located in Finland in those seven fields at intern, junior and mid-level seniority, deduplicated so a posting cross-listed on several job boards counts once. A company counts as an agency if it is flagged as a recruitment company in our company data, is registered in an employment-agency industry, or is clearly a staffing company by name; the busiest posters were also checked by hand against their own ads. In total 108 agencies were found.

The share is a floor: only the 200 biggest posters in the pool are classified, and smaller ones count as direct employers. An agency listing is often for a role at a client company, sometimes as a route into a permanent job there, and a listing count is not the same as a hiring count. For a job seeker in these fields, it means a large part of the market is reached through agencies rather than employers' own sites.
