Our home care resource pools in Helsinki have a place for you! As a home care assistant in the resource pool, you will work across different service areas and teams, depending on the needs of the regions — basically where your help is needed most. The work is mobile, diverse, and offers opportunities to get to know different teams and clients across Helsinki. You will work in a permanent employment relationship, not as a gig worker, but as part of the home care and rehabilitative assessment unit’s own substitute staff, working systematically in different teams. We are strengthening our resource pools to support the home care and assessment unit teams more flexibly: • Resource Pool 1 operates in the southern and partly western home care areas • Resource Pool 2 operates in the central and partly western and northern areas • Resource Pool 3 operates in the eastern, southeastern, northeastern, and partly northern areas • Resource Pool 4 covers the entire Helsinki area and focuses on longer substitutions • The rehabilitative assessment unit’s resource pool covers the entire Helsinki area and its teams. The resource pools mainly operate in these areas but also support other home care teams across Helsinki as needed. The office locations are: • Resource Pool 1: Hiomotie 6 A, 5th floor, 00380 Helsinki • Resource Pool 2: Hiomotie 6 A, 5th floor, 00380 Helsinki • Resource Pool 3: Laivalahdenkatu 2b C, 2nd floor, 00880 Helsinki • Resource Pool 4: Hiomotie 6 A, 5th floor, 00380 Helsinki • Rehabilitative assessment unit’s resource pool: Malmin asematie 3 A, 4th floor, 00700 Helsinki Although the work is mobile and mainly in clients’ homes, the offices provide a support base and team you belong to. Employment begins gradually to ensure quality orientation for all new employees. What is the work like in the resource pool? We support clients to live as independently and well as possible in their own homes. Your work includes: • supporting and assessing clients’ functional capacity and rehabilitation • basic care and assistance in daily situations • medication, wound care, and other nursing tasks • recording in the Apotti client information system • collaboration in a multidisciplinary team • traveling to clients’ homes on foot, by bike, by car, or public transport. What do we expect from you? • You are a licensed practical nurse • You can work morning and evening shifts (between 7 am and 9:30 pm), also on weekends • Ability to work independently and responsibly in clients’ homes • Good communication skills and team spirit • For the assessment unit’s resource pool, a B-driver’s license and practical driving skills with a manual transmission car are essential. Eligibility requirement: A qualification as a practical nurse. Registration with the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Valvira) is required. Good spoken and written Finnish skills (at least B2.1 level). Before the decision, the applicant must provide a health check assessment of their ability to perform the tasks and a drug test certificate. The applicant must also provide a tuberculosis screening certificate as required by the Infectious Diseases Act. The successful candidate must complete the LOP/LOVe approved medication license before the trial period ends. Before starting, the selected person must present a criminal record extract as required by the Act on the Criminal Background Check of Persons Working with Elderly People (Act 741/2023, Section 28). Experience in home care or resource pools and knowledge of the Apotti system are considered an advantage. Experience in a responsible nurse role is also valued.
