Special Class Teacher - Kauniaisten kaupunki - Grankulla, Finland

We are looking for an enthusiastic special class teacher to join our team at the Kauniainen primary school for a permanent position starting from 1 August 2026. The job is located at the Mäntymäki teaching point (grades 1-6) at the start of employment. Student-centeredness and the well-being of all members of the school community, as well as respectful and friendly interaction, are important to us. We aim to support each student's growth, learning, and well-being so that they have strong roots and wings for a good life. We implement learning support mainly through co-teaching. Our school also offers Swedish immersion teaching and inclusive preparatory education. Our development themes include learning support and strengthening basic skills, well-being, language, cultural and cultural awareness, and building a sustainable future. All our teachers participate in grade-level and development teams. You will join a professional and community-oriented Finnish-language basic education special education team. Your work involves collaboration with other teachers, the school youth worker, student welfare staff, families, and various networks. The qualification requirement is compliance with the qualification criteria for teaching staff as per the decree 986/1998. Original certificates demonstrating qualifications must be presented at the possible interview. We require excellent teamwork and communication skills, a strong knowledge of current legislation on learning support, and the ability to implement flexible learning support arrangements in basic education. The employment is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. The appointment to a permanent position is conditional upon the submission of an approved health certificate and written confirmation of acceptance of the fixed-term position. The selected person must present a criminal record extract as per the Criminal Records Act (504/2002) before starting employment. If no formally qualified applicants are available, the position may be filled temporarily in this recruitment from 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2027. Experience in multidisciplinary network cooperation in learning support, development of learning support models, and a proactive work approach are considered an advantage.
