Welcome to the warm-hearted Laivuri! Laivuri daycare is located in Ruoholahti with excellent transportation connections. It is a small daycare where spaces are used together with planning, and the hall is shared by groups. We go outside to a playground across the street and take trips nearby or a bit further away. Currently, we have positions available in a 3-4-year-old group and a 1-2-year-old group. Children at Laivuri are active participants supported by adults. We do a lot with children and organize joint events for everyone's joy. Respectful interaction, noticing good, and a supportive atmosphere are the foundation of learning. Positive feedback and warmth are part of every day. In a small daycare, teamwork and collaboration are essential. Our ideal colleague has good cooperation skills and pedagogical insight. A good sense of humor is also important! The presence of the early childhood education teacher and effective interaction within the community support children's growth and development. As an early childhood education teacher, you are responsible for building the activity culture and learning environment of your children's group, planning, implementing, developing, and evaluating pedagogical activities, and supporting children's individual learning according to Helsinki's early childhood education and preschool curriculum, the unit’s operational plan, and the child's VASU. Qualifications: We require that you have a qualification according to the Finnish Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or a transitional provision (75 §), a Bachelor's degree in Education, a suitable university of applied sciences degree, or an equivalent previous qualification, e.g., a kindergarten teacher or social educator degree (Act 272/2005 and Decree 608/2005). Recognition of foreign education by the Finnish National Agency for Education also fulfills the qualification requirement. Additionally, good oral and written skills in Finnish are required. The selected person must present a valid criminal background check for working with children (504/2002). A tuberculosis certificate for working with children under school age will be checked (Communicable Diseases Act § 55). When starting a permanent employment as an early childhood education teacher with the City of Helsinki in 2026, a one-time incentive of 2000 euros will be paid. The payment is only once per person.
