Business Controller - Pharmatory Oy - Uleåborg, Finland

Pharmatory Oy is a 25-year-old process development and contract manufacturing company in Oulu, specializing in chemical processes. We produce active pharmaceutical ingredients developed by our clients for research and development purposes. Our customer base includes companies in Europe, South Korea, and the USA. We are now seeking a Business Controller for a permanent position. In this role, you will help shape the future of Pharmatory Oy's financial management and have a direct impact on management decisions. In this role, you will be responsible for Pharmatory Oy's financial data and reporting. You will oversee the development of the accounting system and produce data to support management decision-making. You will work closely with external accounting services. The role will heavily focus on developing financial management during the first 12–18 months. After the development phase, you will have the opportunity to influence the expansion of your role based on your interests, for example, into human resources. Key Responsibilities: - Managing, developing, and automating the accounting system and financial processes. - Monitoring customer and investment projects, including revenue recognition based on project progress (accounting, parameters, and documentation). - Defining financial KPIs with management, reporting, and meeting deadlines. - Monitoring the company's and business units' finances, conducting variance analyses, and advising management. - Budgeting and regularly updating financial and cash flow forecasts. What We Expect From You: We are looking for a person with an analytical mindset, the ability to see behind the numbers, and a genuine desire to develop operational methods. Success in this role is supported by: - Education as MSc (Econ) or Bachelor of Business Administration (AMK), with a major in accounting. - At least 2–5 years of relevant work experience. - Very proficient Excel skills. Understanding of BI tools and ability to utilize them. - Ability to use AI tools and a willingness to learn new methods for analysis and process improvement. - Development-oriented attitude. Ability to grasp large entities, solve broad problems step-by-step, and choose an appropriate level of detail relative to the business. - Fluent Finnish and English skills.
