Mechanical Design Engineer, Espoo - Academic Work

About the role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will contribute to the design of critical components for large-scale equipment used in global projects. You will collaborate closely with Lead Designers and a diverse international team of engineers. This role offers exposure to unique, custom-built machinery and innovative engineering challenges. While the team operates across borders, your physical workspace will be in Espoo, where you are expected to work on-site at least three days a week. During the initial onboarding phase, you will be expected to be present at the office even more frequently to ensure a smooth start and effective integration into the team. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, with a target start date in early June. The contract runs until the end of the year, with a possibility for an extension. Work tasks This role involves the design and development of mechanical components for heavy-duty machinery, contributing to complex, global engineering projects. - Design mechanical components for large-scale equipment. - Collaborate closely with Lead Designers on global projects. - Perform and verify engineering calculations for custom mechanical parts. - Develop detailed part designs. We are looking for Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar). Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks, Inventor or similar CAD software. Advanced experience in 3D modeling and drafting. Good knowledge of engineering calculations. Advanced knowledge of technical drawing. Advanced English communication skills. It is meritorious if you have Previous experience with industrial machinery. Finnish language skills. To succeed in the role, your have Proactive, curious, and resilient mindset.
