Hervantajärvi is a new unit opening in the fall that provides enhanced round-the-clock residential services for adults with intellectual disabilities requiring special support. The client groups consist of three home groups of four residents each, on two different floors. Our clients may have features of autism spectrum disorder and psychosocial support needs, emphasizing multidisciplinary skills, interaction skills, proactive work approach, and individual encounters. The work is carried out using a primary nurse and nurse team model, which enables building good trust between employees and clients and understanding clients holistically. The work team includes a supervisor, a nurse, a guide with a university of applied sciences degree, a responsible guide, practical nurses, and care assistants. The job involves multidisciplinary collaboration with the unit’s multidisciplinary team and other partners such as daytime activities, relatives, and health services. As a practical nurse, your tasks include: working mainly in your own home group and flexibly in other home groups when needed caring for clients’ overall well-being and health basic care and medication management assessing, planning, and implementing individual life and daily activities and functional capacity using alternative communication methods daily outdoor activities household tasks such as cleaning and laundry daily cooking, providing clients with home-cooked meals whenever possible documenting in the Omni360 patient information system and the social welfare client information system Saga. Coffee and tea are also available at the workplace. What skills and experience do you need for this role? You are a licensed practical nurse (social welfare) or a basic care nurse. You have completed a hygiene passport and LOVe medication online test. If necessary, you can complete LOVe medication online tests at the start of employment. Interest in working with adults with intellectual disabilities requiring special support and good stress tolerance. Awareness of the self-determination rights of people with intellectual disabilities and an inclusive work approach. Solution-oriented working style, strong interaction skills, and good digital skills. We are also planning to hire two permanent night-shift practical nurses to start with. The position is subject to a six-month trial period. The working hours are full-time, averaging 38 hours and 15 minutes per week, including morning, evening, and night shifts. The selected candidate must have valid vaccination protection according to section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act (1227/2016). Before starting, the candidate must present a criminal record extract as per section 6, paragraph 4 of the Criminal Records Act. The candidate must also provide the required health certificates within one month of starting work.
