We are seeking a registered nurse to strengthen our on-call staff at the Meilahti hospital area (Siltasairaala, Puistosairaala, Tornisairaala, and Kolmiosairaala) in surgical departments. On-call nurses work in the TuPlan (Tukielin- ja plastiikkakirurgian) and Vatsakeskus units, which treat patients from multiple specialties (orthopedics, traumatology, hand surgery, plastic surgery, organ and liver transplantation, endocrinology and endocrine surgery, gastroenterology, nephrology, urology, abdominal surgery, vascular surgery). The position is temporary from August 24, 2026, to May 23, 2027, starting in the TuPlan units. As an on-call nurse, you play an important role in covering sudden staffing shortages. Your daily assignments will be based on need. You do not need to be an expert in these specialties beforehand, as we provide thorough orientation. Experience in surgical patient care and specialized healthcare is considered an advantage. Proficiency in Finnish (spoken and written) and satisfactory proficiency in Swedish (spoken and written), or good proficiency in Swedish and satisfactory proficiency in Finnish. We require vaccination against infectious diseases according to the Communicable Diseases Act for those working in patient and customer areas, and health status verification for tuberculosis for healthcare workers. Experience in specialized healthcare and surgical nursing is an advantage.
