The Education and Child Services Department of the City of Orivesi is recruiting for a fixed-term position as a swimming instructor from August 3, 2026, to June 6, 2027, for the "All Swim Safely!" project. The working hours are approximately 30 hours per week. The work is scheduled during school days. Salary is according to the municipal collective agreement (KVTES). The project aims to develop plans related to swimming skills, establish good practices, and implement them. It supports the objectives of the basic education curriculum to enhance students' swimming skills. The main responsibilities include evaluating and developing school swimming lessons, training school staff, developing water safety skills, collaborating with stakeholders, measuring and monitoring swimming skills, providing remedial swimming instruction, and reporting on the project. Qualifications: - Sufficient experience in swimming instructor tasks. - Valid and approved swimming instructor training certificate from SUH. The selected candidate must present an acceptable criminal record extract (Act on the Background Check of Persons Working with Children 504/2002). The employment is subject to a five-month probation period. Preferred qualifications: - Relevant sports or guidance education/diploma. - Valid and approved lifeguard course. - Valid first aid (EA1) training. - Previous experience in similar roles.
