Student welfare psychologists work as part of multidisciplinary student welfare teams within their own educational institutions. In your role, you will provide psychological expertise to early childhood education and schools, working to promote the well-being and safety of students and the school community, as well as fostering a positive learning environment. The scope of work extends from preschool and basic education to secondary education. In Lapland, the goal of a student welfare psychologist's work is not only to cope under pressure but also to develop credible methods to promote learning and well-being, prevent problems, and implement these effectively in daily practice. Your role as a student welfare psychologist includes: - Bringing psychological expertise to the community work of educational institutions and assessing and developing the effectiveness of community work. - Consulting, advising, and guiding children and young people on development, mental health, and well-being issues within schools and educational institutions. - Assessing, advising, and guiding students' mental well-being. - Evaluating issues related to the development, school attendance, and learning of children and young people, and planning and implementing support measures in collaboration with the student, guardians, and educational staff. - Planning, implementing, and preparing recommendations and statements based on psychological methods and assessment data.
