We are seeking professionals for a demanding psychological support unit at Siikajärvi Children's Home Go Strong. Siikajärvi Children's Home is located in a natural environment near Nuuksio, about a 30-minute drive from Helsinki city center. The unit is intended for children and adolescents with severe psychological symptoms who require intensive, everyday support outside the home. The activity complements psychiatric services in situations where the young person's rehabilitation strongly requires resourced, continuous, and relationship-based work in foster care. The work combines trauma-informed care, psychiatric understanding, treatment guidelines, and daily rehabilitation work. The goal is to support the young person's regulation, safety, and functioning proactively and consistently in foster care routines. We are looking for experienced professionals such as social workers (including supervisor), nurses (including head nurse), practical nurses, and occupational therapists. What the job involves: The unit addresses issues such as self-harm and severe psychological stress, eating disorders, behavioral disorders and impulse control challenges, trauma- and attachment-related difficulties. Job description: The work combines: expertise in demanding psychological support, daily care and upbringing work, and support for family relationships and parenthood. Key areas: - Psychological support: monitoring and assessing the young person's well-being in daily life, supporting regulation and safety, anticipating and managing stressful situations, working with a trauma- and relationship-based approach. - Collaboration with care authorities: close cooperation with youth psychiatric clinics, coordinating treatment and daily routines, interpreting observations, and implementing care guidelines. - Family work: strengthening family relationships, supporting parenthood, collaborating with families and networks. - Daily work: guiding young people daily, maintaining a safe and predictable environment, participating in planning, evaluation, and development. The work emphasizes a shared approach, reflexivity, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Green Care as part of the work: Nature- and animal-assisted work is part of daily activities. We utilize a therapy barn and natural environment to support regulation and calming, functional and physical work, participation, and experiences of success. Qualifications: Suitable education, experience in psychiatry, child protection, or demanding client work, ability to combine structure and flexibility as part of a reflective team, good interaction and collaboration skills, driving license (essential).
