We are looking for an early childhood education social worker for Daycare Portti in Kivikko, working with children aged 1-3. Portti is a small, community-oriented daycare in Kivikko, close to nature. It has three groups of children aged 1-5. We value each child's individuality and aim to ensure every child feels included and can influence their daily life at the daycare. As a social worker in early childhood education, you will plan, evaluate, and implement pedagogical activities, supporting each child's individual learning in accordance with Helsinki's early childhood education and pre-primary curriculum, the unit’s operational plan, and the child's Vasu plan, working closely with the team. You will build the activity culture and learning environment of your group, support social growth, and promote equality by integrating social, community, and social-pedagogical perspectives into your work. Qualifications: You must have at least a higher education degree in social and health care, including at least 60 ECTS in early childhood education and social pedagogy, or a social worker degree supplemented with these studies (540/2018 27§). Recognition of foreign qualifications by the Finnish National Agency for Education also fulfills the qualification requirement. You must have good spoken and written Finnish skills. The selected person must present a valid criminal background check for working with children (504/2002). A tuberculosis clearance for working with underage children will be checked (Communicable Diseases Act § 55). When starting a permanent contract as a social worker in Helsinki in 2026, you will receive a one-time bonus of 2000 euros, paid only once to the same person.
