Join us in a unique and scenic school environment! Karkku Evangelical Folk High School is hiring a permanent special education teacher starting August 1, 2026. The position is part-time (50%), with the possibility to increase working hours by mutual agreement as needs change. During the 2026–2027 school year, depending on the applicant's qualifications, the role may also include responsibilities as a guidance counselor and/or subject teacher. In such cases, the position can be temporarily full-time (up to 100%). Qualifications as a guidance counselor or subject teacher are considered an advantage. In your role as a special education teacher at the folk high school, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and developing support for students' learning in collaboration with teachers, line management, and the principal. You will play a key role in creating individualized and flexible learning pathways and supporting students' well-being and academic progress. You will have the opportunity to develop the support services at the folk high school during an active development phase. As a special education teacher, you will be instrumental in the development of the folk high school, especially in the upcoming academic year as part of the national _Unique Learning Path_ project. You will participate in project work and pedagogical development, providing special pedagogical expertise to support the entire school's activities. You will be involved in the school's educational development and work closely with teaching staff, student welfare services, and regional networks. The role emphasizes teamwork skills, a flexible working approach, and student-centered thinking. At the school, you will work with weekly students, course participants, and a competent staff.
