For us, genuine encounters with children, participation, and warm interaction are meaningful. In your work, you will act as an expert in special education pedagogy and support matters. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing support activities in our unit. You will participate in preparing early childhood education plans from a support perspective. You will work in different child groups according to support needs and serve as a consultative role supporting teams. Regular meetings with the daycare director and the support person are part of the support structure. You will join the regional support network and work with skilled and enthusiastic colleagues. You will be responsible, together with other staff, for planning activities, observing children's support needs, guiding and supporting children in early childhood education and preschool, and building a support-appropriate activity culture and learning environment. Qualification requirements: You must have the qualification according to the Finnish Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or a transitional provision (75 §) for the position of early childhood education teacher, supplemented with professional studies in special education, as specified by government regulation; or a master's degree in education with a major in special pedagogy (early childhood special education). Recognition of foreign qualifications by the Finnish National Agency for Education also fulfills the qualification requirement. Additionally, you must have good oral and written skills in Finnish. The selected person must present a valid criminal background check for working with children (504/2002). A tuberculosis clearance for working with children under school age will be checked (Communicable Diseases Act § 55). When starting a permanent employment as an early childhood education special teacher at Helsinki City in 2026, we will offer you a 2000 euro incentive bonus.
