Special Education Teacher, Jääli School - Oulun kaupunki - Uleåborg, Finland

The position of temporary Special Education Teacher is available at Jääli School for the academic year 2026 - 2027. Jääli School has approximately 630 students in grades 1-9. In addition to general education classes, the school operates six regional small classes for students requiring intensive support (VET classes), a preparatory education class (VALO), and a flexible basic education class (JOPO). The multi-purpose building also houses youth facilities and a library. The school and youth services collaborate to support a smooth school day for children and young people. We are seeking a skilled and cooperative special education teacher to strengthen our support for learning and school attendance in accordance with the new Basic Education Act and support reform. As a special education teacher, you will work flexibly within Jääli comprehensive school, supporting students and teachers in daily activities, and participate in planning and implementing group- and student-specific support measures. Qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel 986/1998. Original degree certificates demonstrating qualifications must be presented during the interview if applicable. Salary is determined according to the municipal collective agreement for the education sector. The selected candidate must, before the appointment is confirmed, no later than 30 days after receiving the decision, present a criminal background check issued in accordance with the Act on Background Checks for Persons Working with Children (504/2002), Section 3.
