Contract Mechanical Engineer X6. Location: Bristol & Hybrid Working. Contract: Inside IR35. Term 12 months. Candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance. Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join one of the UK's most significant land defence programmes. Working within the Integrate Team, you'll play a key role in resolving complex engineering issues across the programme, ensuring successful integration between multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile MOD project. You'll provide engineering expertise across the programme, working collaboratively with Project Leads, Chief Engineers and specialist engineering teams to identify, investigate and resolve technical challenges. Key responsibilities include providing mechanical engineering expertise, investigating cross-project issues, supporting project leads, working across multidisciplinary teams, identifying design conflicts, participating in engineering groups, contributing to risk mitigation, producing technical documentation, and ensuring standards compliance. Essential requirements include an engineering qualification, registration as EngTech or equivalent, experience in delivering technical solutions, communication skills, and problem-solving skills. Desirable experience includes supporting military or defence equipment, asset management, working on complex programmes, stakeholder engagement, and MOD or defence industry experience. The role is based in Bristol, UK, with hybrid working, and offers a daily rate of £350-£500. The position is inside IR35, with a 12-month contract, and candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
