We are seeking two (2) permanent early childhood education teachers for employment starting August 1, 2026, at the following municipal daycares in Kajaani: - Päiväkoti Karuselli - Roots of growth at Karuselli - Vanamon päiväkoti - Strong roots for the future at Vanamo! As an early childhood education teacher, you are responsible for ensuring that the activities and pedagogy of the children's group align with the early childhood education plan. You will plan activities for the children, ensure that activities are goal-oriented and well-structured, and evaluate, develop, and document the activities for the entire group and small groups. You will participate in pedagogical development teams at your daycare and in planning, evaluating, and developing the overall pedagogical approach in collaboration with the entire staff. You promote actions in the best interest of the child by strengthening children’s equality, safety, and overall well-being. The positions are permanent starting August 1, 2026. Salary is determined according to the municipal teaching staff collective agreement (OVTES). The starting salary for qualified early childhood education teachers is €3,052.03 plus possible additional allowances. Qualifications include meeting the criteria under the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) section 26 or transitional provision section 75 for the position of early childhood education teacher. Certificates demonstrating qualification will be checked during the interview process. In the absence of qualified applicants, candidates who are nearing completion of their studies in early childhood education will also be considered.
