We are seeking an assistant principal for a fixed-term employment period from August 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. Kannelmäki Basic School has over 1300 students across five different locations. Our school is an inclusive and multicultural local school for all children and youth in the area. We offer expressive arts education for grades 3-9 and bilingual Finnish-English instruction at all levels. Our values are student-centeredness, community, and professionalism. A new school building for grades 5-9 will be completed in spring 2027. The younger students' school buildings are new or recently renovated. The school is led by a principal team, including the principal and three assistant principals. As an assistant principal, you will help lead the school's activities according to city strategic goals and serve as a supervisor for your own teaching unit. The role emphasizes collaboration with families and stakeholders. Your supervisory duties are located at the Kannelmäki site. We have 150 educational and pedagogical staff. The assistant principal must meet the same eligibility criteria as the principal, as defined by the decree 1998/986.
