We are now strengthening and developing our R&D Testing team and therefore looking for a proactive and development-oriented Test Engineer for a full-time and permanent position in Tampere/Myllypuro, Finland. Your role As a Test Engineer in Surface Drilling R&D organization, your main role is to carry out different surface drill rig - Top Hammer (TH) & Down the Hole (DTH) related tests and report findings to the R&D. Testing includes system functionality, performance and durability testing and report analyzation and documentation. You will take part in test preparations, which include some electrical and mechanical installation work. You will take part in developing the R&D team’s work methods and improving our operations by creating test plans and documenting test results. This role includes fair amount of travelling to customer sites during new product development customer validation phase. Your background and what we find important You have relevant technical education and already years’ work experience in test engineering or similar experience. You are familiar with mechanical and electrical installations and have basic knowledge of software systems, qualification in the field of electricity and/or automation is considered an applicant's strength. From a functional level you have knowledge of surface drill rigs or similar machinery. Your way of working is self-driven, and you have good communication and collaboration skills. You can work proactively and systematically in a fast-changing business environment. Working with the products in the testing environment requires good physical fitness. You are fluent in both Finnish and English. Sandvik is dedicated to ensuring the health and work ability of all employees.
