Join the Itä-Uudenmaan hyvinvointialue to work on child protection with a fresh approach! We are hiring a SOCIAL WORKER for a permanent position starting from 1.9.2026 or according to agreement. The position is located in the Sipoo child protection team at the start of employment. We are looking for a professional or a newly graduated social worker to implement and develop versatile outpatient and residential child protection services with our cheerful and professional team. In Itä-Uusimaa, child protection work has been developed for years by increasing and diversifying the use of outpatient services. We offer interesting and challenging tasks in a competent and development-oriented work community. The duties of a social worker include working with children, their relatives, and cooperation partners, arranging necessary services, making related decisions, and structural social work. Starting work is easy, as all current client cases are well managed. You will never have to fear working alone; we have close support from supervisors and colleagues. Itä-Uudenmaan hyvinvointialue has three regional child protection teams, including social workers, social guidance professionals, a leading social worker, and a family therapist. Our team conducts strongly systemic child protection work, which is actively used both in the team and in client work. Our social workers have good workspaces. We offer flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work by agreement. Occupational health services are provided by Mehiläinen. Qualifications include the competence of a social worker as per the Act on Social Welfare Professionals (817/2015) §7 and registration in the register of social and health care professionals (JulkiSuosikki). Good oral and written skills in one native language and satisfactory skills in another native language are required. We are a strongly bilingual region, so proficiency in Swedish, experience in child protection work, and systemic working models are considered an advantage. Experience working with families, children, and youth is also an advantage. If no applicants meet the qualification requirements, the position may be temporarily filled for up to one year with a person studying for a social worker degree who has successfully completed basic and intermediate social work studies and related practical training.
