Hello you, early childhood education special teacher. We are looking for an enthusiastic early childhood education special teacher for our team at the unit Master located in the Strömberg business area. As a special teacher, you will be responsible for building the activity culture and learning environment of the children's group, planning, implementing, developing, and evaluating pedagogical activities, and supporting individual learning. You will be responsible, together with other staff, for planning activities, observing children's support needs, guiding and supporting children in early childhood education and preschool, and building a suitable activity culture and learning environment pedagogically for children, supporting individual learning. The activities are based on Helsinki's early childhood education and preschool plan, the unit’s activity plan, and the child's vasu and leops. Why work with us? Qualification requirements: You must have the qualification according to the Finnish Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or a transitional provision (75 §) for the role of early childhood education teacher, plus completed professional studies in special education, as specified by government regulation; or a master's degree in education with a major in special pedagogy (early childhood special education). Recognition decision from the Finnish National Agency for Education based on foreign education also fulfills the qualification requirement. Additionally, good oral and written skills in Finnish are required. The selected person must present a valid criminal background check for working with children (504/2002). A tuberculosis clearance for working with underage children will be checked (Communicable Diseases Act § 55). When starting a permanent employment as a special teacher at Helsinki City in 2026, a 2000 euro incentive bonus will be paid. The bonus is paid only once to the same person.
