Junior Service Engineer (UPS) - ABB Oy - Helsingfors, Finland

We are looking for UPS maintenance technician/engineer for a permanent position in ABB's Smart Power business, Power Protection Service and UPS Systems unit. You can be a recent graduate or an experienced professional, but motivation to develop and solve technical challenges is key. You will work on technically demanding solutions and see the impact of your work directly in our customers' daily operations, ensuring their critical functions run uninterrupted. The role combines independent field work and strong technical expertise. We offer excellent opportunities for professional growth through comprehensive training and team support. You will be responsible for maintenance, commissioning, and expert tasks related to UPS systems. You will work closely with our sales team and build long-term customer relationships. Customers include data centers, hospitals, and manufacturing plants. The location is in Helsinki, Pitäjänmäki, with customer visits mainly in Southern Finland. The role requires travel readiness, as about 80% of your time will be spent at customer sites. We value self-motivation and genuine interest in customer service. Your main responsibilities include independently maintaining, commissioning, and providing expert services for UPS systems, offering technical support, and preparing maintenance and commissioning documentation. Future participation in 24/7 UPS on-call duty is possible. You will also promote maintenance sales in collaboration with the maintenance salesperson. Qualifications include experience in electrical installations, knowledge of general installation practices, measuring devices, and tools. Previous experience with UPS systems and low-voltage distribution systems maintenance is an advantage. Electrical safety card and work safety card are beneficial. Proficiency in MS Office, basic SAP, and IP/network knowledge are pluses. The role requires a driver’s license, ability to travel regularly within Finland, fluent Finnish and English skills, and a degree in electrical engineering or technician level skills or equivalent experience.
