We are hiring a social counselor for the Mental Health and Addictions Unit at Miepä-asema Martinlaakso. The role involves assessing clients’ situations, planning treatment and rehabilitation pathways as part of a multidisciplinary team, conducting individual situation mapping, assessing needs for services and support, providing guidance to other services and benefits, and networking with other actors. The work requires collaboration with other professionals at Miepä-asema and strong interaction skills, solution-oriented approach, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations. Key duties include assessing the mental health and addiction client’s situation and providing initial support, care coordination work, initiating groundwork for opioid substitution treatment clients and planning continuation care, collaborating and networking with various actors, and other duties as assigned by the employer. Required qualifications: Social Services degree (AMK) or prior vocational diploma (e.g. social educator) and registration in the Valvira professional register. Additional preferences include specialization in mental health and/or addiction work; knowledge of social and health services, resident services and third sector actors; fluent Finnish (oral and written). Desirable: experience with Apotti client/patient records system; basic Microsoft Office 365 use. The positions are located in Martinlaakso; teamwork is multidisciplinary with nurses, addiction doctor and practical nurse. The service includes appointment-based and walk-in clinics and opioid substitution treatment. We process applications as they come and will fill the role when a suitable candidate is found. Employment type: permanent, starting 14.09.2026 or by agreement. Full-time, 38.25 h/week on average. Vaccination requirements under infectious diseases act apply. Salary is 3,176.25 EUR/month plus any experience-based increase. The terms follow the Social and Health Care Services Employment Contract (SOTE).
