Platform Engineering Lead - St1 Nordic Oy - Helsingfors, Finland

We are looking for a Platform Engineering Lead to join St1's Cloud & Infrastructure team, a team that owns and operates a portfolio of critical business platforms, from cloud infrastructure and identity management to ITSM and security tooling. Your primary focus is cloud infrastructure and DevOps, but your impact goes broader: you are the team's go-to for automation and smarter ways of working across all platforms. A core part of the mission is building cloud infrastructure services that developers can consume as self-service, reducing friction, accelerating delivery, and giving teams what they need without platform involvement at every step. To do this well, you think like a developer: you understand delivery pipelines, CI/CD, software lifecycles, and what it actually takes to ship and run software. That mindset, combined with strong cloud and infrastructure knowledge, is what makes a great platform lead. You lead by example. Most of your time is hands-on, since in this craft you can't stay relevant without building, but a meaningful part of the role is inspiring and enabling your team: sparring on hard problems, pairing, teaching, and lifting how the whole team works. You don't need to arrive as a finished AI expert. What matters is the belief that AI is reshaping platform work, and the drive to learn it yourself and bring your team along with you. As a Platform Engineering Lead, youll play a key role in Leading the platform engineering team: set technical direction, support engineers day to day, spar on hard problems, and actively grow the team's skills, including new ways of working. Being hands-on: designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, automation pipelines, and platform tooling yourself. Applying infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) to standardize and govern environments across the cloud landscape. Owning the full lifecycle of platform services, from design and build to operations, improvement, and decommission. Driving a DevSecOps approach: security, reliability, and observability built in, not bolted on. Supporting developers building and deploying in cloud and hybrid environments. The platform exists to make their work easier. Managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs. FinOps is part of the job, not an afterthought. Finding where automation can reduce manual platform work and lead the team in adopting those approaches. Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving cloud and deployment issues, and building the tooling that prevents them recurring. Documenting decisions, configurations, and practices clearly so the team can build on your work.
