Join the team that gives quantum a heartbeat. In this role, you will help our Fabrication team develop new and improved fabrication processes for the next generation of quantum processing units. You will spend most of your time in the cleanroom, running development experiments across modules like lithography, etching, wet processing and deposition. Your work will directly shape how our chips perform, and how fast we can learn our way to better QPUs. This is a 1 year fixed term position to support the team during a parental leave. Joining a team of 6 people working closely with Process Engineers, Technicians, and Equipment Engineers. Execute hands on development work for fabrication steps within one or multiple quantum chip process modules. Design and run hypothesis driven experiments to explore process parameters and new technology concepts. Analyze experimental data, make clear conclusions, and plan the next development iteration. Contribute to improving quantum chip performance (e.g., coherence time, qubit uniformity, signal routing capabilities). Collaborate closely with QPU Process Engineers, Technicians, and Equipment Engineers to run experiments and solve technical issues. Keep accurate and traceable documentation of experiments and results. Support process integration with Cleanroom and Chip Production teams when needed. Help transfer mature processes to Process Engineering for stabilization and production implementation. Report technical progress and development insights to the team leader or module owner. Follow cleanroom safety protocols and actively contribute to a safe working environment. A relevant degree in physics, materials science, electrical engineering, chemistry, nanotechnology, or a similar field, or equivalent hands on experience. 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in micro or nanofabrication, semiconductor processing, or device fabrication. Strong cleanroom experience with one of the following: lithography, etching, wet processing, deposition. A strong experimental mindset: you enjoy designing experiments, learning fast, and iterating based on results. Confidence working hands on with tools and processes in a cleanroom environment, following safety and documentation standards. Clear communication and collaboration skills, especially in cross functional engineering teams. Comfort working in an R&D environment where priorities can change as new learning comes in. Experience with superconducting devices or quantum chip fabrication. Experience with advanced cleanroom equipment and process integration. Familiarity with basic statistical methods for experimental work, such as Design of Experiments, or practical data analysis tools. Why IQM? - Utföra praktiskt utvecklingsarbete för tillverkningssteg inom en eller flera kvantchipprocessmoduler

- Hålla noggrann och spårbar dokumentation av experiment och resultat
- Stödja processintegration med Cleanroom och Chip Production-team när det behövs
- Hjälpa till att överföra mogna processer till Process Engineering för stabilisering och produktion
- Rapportera tekniska framsteg och utvecklingsinsikter till teamledaren eller modulägaren
- Följa cleanroom-säkerhetsprotokoll och aktivt bidra till en säker arbetsmiljö
Krav
- En relevant examen i fysik, materialvetenskap, elektroteknik, kemi, nanoteknologi eller liknande område, eller motsvarande praktisk erfarenhet
