We are currently seeking practical nurses for various temporary assignments in Helsinki's home care teams and resource pools. The work involves supporting elderly, convalescent, multi-ill, and disabled persons who need care and attention due to physical and/or mental decline. The goal is to enable a safe and personalized life in the client's own home. The work in home care is mobile, varied, and independent. You will meet clients in their homes, traveling on foot, by bike, car, or public transport. The work is carried out every day of the week between 7 am and 9:30 pm (morning and evening shifts). In the resource pool, you work across different areas of home care, replacing absences and supporting team activities. The tasks include supporting clients' functional capacity and rehabilitation, basic care and assistance in daily situations, medication and wound care, acting as a responsible nurse for your clients, documenting in the Apotti system, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and relatives, and traveling to clients' homes. We are currently recruiting substitutes for the following teams: Southern home care unit, Kaakkoinen home care unit, Koillinen home care unit, Western home care unit, Northern home care unit, and Centralized home care services. We expect you to work morning and evening shifts (between 7 am and 9:30 pm), including weekends, independently and responsibly in clients' homes, with good physical condition and the ability to handle varying situations, and to have good interaction skills and work as part of a team. Education and skills required include a practical nurse degree and registration with the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Valvira), or a practical nurse student who has completed approved studies in client interaction and guidance, promoting well-being and functional capacity, medication administration, and preferably completed home care internship. Also, a nurse or public health nurse student is acceptable. Other requirements include good oral and written Finnish skills (at least B2.1 level), completion of medication licenses by trial period, occupational health assessment, drug test certificate, tuberculosis screening, and criminal record check if employment exceeds three months within a year. Preferred qualifications include experience in home care, knowledge of Apotti and Rai systems, a B-class driving license, and manual transmission driving skills. Interested?
