The West Uusimaa Wellbeing Service Area is responsible for social and health services as well as rescue services for approximately 500,000 residents. Nearly 10,000 professionals work here, dedicated to building Finland's best wellbeing service area. We are seeking a Service Area Director to lead the shared social and health services. The service area provides social and health services that improve residents' health, functional capacity, and quality of life. It includes health services, oral health care, mental health and substance abuse services, and social services for adults. We are looking for a person with a strong vision and leadership skills to develop people-centered and impactful services. We offer a prominent position in a public organization and a role where you can genuinely influence the future of social and health services in Finland. Your responsibilities include: - Leading, developing, and ensuring the effectiveness and quality of the shared social and health services. - Managing a broad and significant service area: - Part of the wellbeing service area's management team - Total budget approximately €300 million - About 2,300 staff members and professionals - Supervising service line managers - Leading the service area in accordance with strategic goals - Collaborating closely with other service areas, municipalities, organizations, and stakeholders in service structure and process development. Qualifications: - Suitable higher university degree Requirements: - Strong experience in strategic and operational leadership of large service entities - Proven success in change management and service development - Excellent networking and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders - Financial understanding and budget management skills in a large organization Candidates will be asked to provide a substance abuse certificate in accordance with the West Uusimaa Wellbeing Service Area's drug policy. We value: - Diverse experience in leading health and social services and integrating them - Understanding and evidence of the need for social and health service reform and development - Proven ability to manage and lead a broad service portfolio, including during change or transition phases - Experience with the special features of wellbeing service areas or other public organizations - Ability to build trust and effective cooperation among staff, managers, and stakeholders - Clear and constructive communication skills during change processes, both internally and externally - Goal-oriented, evidence-based approach, with the ability to set and monitor impactful objectives and continuously develop operations - Strong execution skills and a practical approach to implementing strategies
