Jobbeskrivning

Polestar is accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility through electric performance. As a digital‑first, cloud‑driven organization, strong operational cybersecurity is essential to protect our platforms, products, and services. We are now looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen Polestar’s security engineering and operational capabilities at our headquarters in Gothenburg. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be an advanced operational security specialist responsible for managing, operating, and improving Polestar’s security systems and tools across enterprise and cloud environments. The role focuses on deploying, configuring, and maintaining security controls spanning, infrastructure and application protection, vulnerability remediation, and continuous monitoring. Operating in a complex, cloud‑first environment, you will work both proactively and reactively to strengthen Polestar’s security posture, enforce secure configurations, support incident response, and contribute to the implementation of Zero Trust principles across systems and services. The position is located at our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden. We believe in empowerment and support flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home a couple of days per week. You will operate and continuously improve Polestar’s security engineering and operational controls to protect cloud and enterprise environments. You will manage, operate, and tune security infrastructure and tools protecting infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and cloud services. Enforce secure configuration baselines and system hardening across cloud and enterprise environments. Run vulnerability scans and collaborate with teams to remediate findings and apply configuration fixes. Support secure development by integrating security checks into the SDLC and advising on secure coding practices. Evaluate security solutions to enhance defensive capabilities. Administer and support security‑owned platforms and tools. Contribute to Zero Trust architecture and implementation through segmentation, least‑privilege enforcement, and continuous verification. Enable effective security operations through responsive actions related to security events and incidents. You are a hands‑on cybersecurity professional with strong technical expertise and experience operating security controls in modern cloud and enterprise environments. You enjoy working close to technology, solving complex security challenges, and collaborating with engineering and platform teams. To be a great fit for this position, we believe you have: Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on operational security. Strong knowledge of cloud security (e.g. Azure, AWS, and/or Cloudflare), including posture management and workload protection. Experience with network and endpoint security technologies. Familiarity with IAM and PAM systems and access governance is a plus. Proven ability to implement secure configurations and manage vulnerability remediation. Experience with serverless architectures and modern web application technologies and frameworks. Good understanding of Zero Trust principles and their application across identity, infrastructure, endpoint, and application layers. Knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks (e.g. CIS Controls, cloud security benchmarks). Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, AWS/Azure Security) are a plus. We know that a change is needed. We also know that each one of us can help bring about that change. Our commitment to becoming climate‑neutral by 2040 is just as important to us as being inclusive, diverse, and innovative. Together, we are creating, collaborating, and experimenting to usher in a new era of sustainable mobility. We are an electric performance brand, determined to improve the society we live in. If you are interested in joining the Polestar crew, don’t wait to submit your application. As part of our recruitment process you could be asked to complete assessments and participate in background checks relevant to the position. We apply a continuous selection process and the job post will remain open until the position is filled.
