Jobbeskrivning

atNorth is a leading Nordic data center company providing cost-effective, scalable high-density colocation and built-to-suit services to industry-leading organizations across Iceland, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. With sustainability at our core, our data centers run on renewable energy and are designed according to circular economy principles. Through innovative design, power efficiency, and intelligent operations, we deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure. Headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland, atNorth operates eight data centers across the Nordics, with additional sites under development in Finland, Denmark, and Sweden. We combine world-class technology with a people-first culture built on collaboration, ownership, and trust, empowering our teams to grow, take responsibility, and make a real impact. By joining our international team, you will help shape the future of sustainable digital infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced Nordic Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to take a leading role in shaping and safeguarding electrical systems operations across our data center sites in the Nordic region. In this role, you will act as the go‑to expert for electrical infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation of our facilities. You will work across sites and disciplines, supporting everything from maintenance and troubleshooting to design reviews, commissioning, audits, and team capability development. By combining hands‑on expertise with strategic oversight, you’ll help ensure strong alignment between Design, Development, and Operations — and continuous improvement across the region. The role offers a balance of on‑site engagement and remote expert work, including documentation, reviews, and advisory support, making it both operationally impactful and strategically influential. Key responsibilities: Act as the Nordic electrical subject matter expert for data center operations, ensuring alignment with atNorth standards and industry best practices. Oversee and support maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of electrical systems, including LV and MV distribution, protection and control systems, UPS, batteries, and generators. Support design reviews, commissioning activities, and project audits to ensure operational readiness and long‑term reliability. Collaborate closely with Design and Development teams to ensure smooth handover of new or upgraded infrastructure to Operations. Drive training, knowledge sharing, and capability development across operational teams to improve consistency and efficiency. Ensure electrical systems meet all safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements across Nordic sites. Contribute to documentation, procedures, and standards to support scalable and repeatable operations. Participate in site visits as required while handling reviews, audits, and documentation remotely where appropriate. Your profile: Proven expertise in Low and Medium Voltage power distribution, UPS, and generator systems. Broad experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and electrical safety programs. Strong educational background in electrical engineering. S1 qualification. Ideally working experience in the data center field. A proactive approach to team training, quality assurance, and process standardization. Basic understanding of mechanical systems to ensure cohesive infrastructure management. Willingness to travel frequently across the Nordic region. Fluent English language, written and spoken. This is a permanent role, and candidates must be eligible to work in Finland as well as be located within commuting distance from our Finnish sites. Background check is conducted for all our employees. What we offer: Weekly office breakfast on Wednesdays and daily snacks at the office. Regular team events to stay connected and have fun. Lunch and recreational benefits. Extensive occupational health care. Accident insurance covering your free time. Holiday accrual of 2,5 days from the beginning of tenure. Newest model of Iphone or Samsung for work phone. Supportive and friendly colleagues across international teams. A chance to contribute to something meaningful. Opportunities for personal and professional growth within the organisation. We believe that sustainable success starts with the wellbeing of our people. For us, an open, transparent, and inclusive culture is more than a priority, it is the core of how we lead and innovate. We don’t just talk about culture; we nurture it. Through regular one-to-one engagements and monthly wellbeing surveys, we listen carefully to our teams, ensuring that every voice is heard and every opportunity for improvement is embraced. We recognize that innovation and collaboration thrive where people feel truly connected, which is why we come together each week to share ideas, strengthen relationships, and nurture a sense of belonging, sometimes over a simple breakfast and good conversation. At atNorth, we are building a community where you can do your best work and shape a sustainable future together.
