Senior System Engineer, Hydropower - VEO Oy

As a senior electrical engineer (Senior System Engineer), you will ensure that the technical solutions for our hydropower projects meet contractual requirements and design standards. You will work closely with the Lead Engineer to understand customer needs and project requirements, designing cost-effective and high-quality solutions. Your tasks include project documentation, testing, commissioning, and ensuring deadlines and requirements are met. You will also play a key role in project coordination, monitoring progress, managing design changes, and collaborating with the project team to solve technical and scheduling challenges. The position is permanent and full-time. The main office is in Vaasa, but you can work from any of our offices (Seinäjoki, Tampere, Paimio, Rovaniemi). The role involves occasional travel mainly within Finland, Sweden, and Norway. We seek someone with a strong technical background, preferably in electrical engineering (bachelor or master). Experience in practical design tasks, excellent problem-solving skills, responsibility, effective communication, and teamwork are essential. The candidate should be adaptable and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with attention to detail. Requirements include a degree in electrical engineering or a related field, strong expertise in electrical design, especially for hydropower plants, experience with design tools (e.g., Eplan, AutoCAD), and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Fluency in Finnish and English is required, Swedish is a plus, and travel readiness is necessary.
