Are you a speech therapist who is inspired by the varied language difficulties of new clients and enjoys working in different cooperation networks? Do you enjoy assessing and rehabilitating the speech, language and eating skills of clients aged 0–17, individually and in groups, at the clinic and using remote technology? You are keen to develop your own expertise and our unit's work with different speech therapy client groups. You enjoy working with children and young people, and are also happy to guide the adults and communities around them. Come and join our team! Our unit has 47 speech therapists, three of whom serve Swedish-speaking clients. We are now looking for a speech therapist for a Finnish-speaking position. Your workplace will be Laajasalo Health Centre (Koulutanhua 2 A). The work will begin by agreement in November 2026, or at the latest in January 2027. Your duties in Helsinki's Children's Speech Therapy include assessing, monitoring and rehabilitating the development of children's and young people's speech, language and eating skills. You will also guide the client's environment and arrange any necessary further assessments and rehabilitation in multidisciplinary cooperation. Our clients are referred by healthcare services, and most are preschool-aged. Speech therapy appointments usually begin with assessments, although some clients are referred directly from specialist healthcare. In addition to family centres and specialist healthcare, our partners include early childhood education and schools. There is strength in a large team, and we consult one another effectively. We have invested in onboarding. As a new speech therapist, you will have a personal mentor and support from a tutor group led by experienced speech therapists. Alongside interesting and varied work, we offer extensive training and development opportunities. As a city employee, you can apply for rental housing from Auroranlinna. Its homes are more affordable than market-rate housing, and employee applications receive priority. Because life is about more than work, we also support a good work-life balance. You will receive the Epassi Flex package, which includes exercise, culture, commuting and wellbeing benefits. The benefit can be up to €550 per calendar year. The available balance depends on the length of your employment. You will also have a lunch benefit. As an employee benefit, you can use a city bike and, if you wish, visit the city's recreation island for employees. The application period is 21 October–5 November 2026. Selected applicants will attend a group interview in week 46 or 47, and we reserve the right to supplement it with an individual interview. The recruitment decision will be made in week 48. Eligibility requirement: Master of Philosophy degree from a logopedics programme. A licence in Finland under the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/1994, 1200/2007) is also required. Language requirement: good spoken and written Finnish and satisfactory spoken Swedish. Before the selection decision, the applicant must provide an occupational health assessment of their ability to perform the duties. The role requires vaccination protection under section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis assessment under section 55. The role requires presentation of a criminal record extract under the Act on Checking the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002). Considered an advantage: - Previous experience with the Apotti patient information system - Experience of multidisciplinary work in medical rehabilitation We value diversity and equality in our work communities. We welcome applicants of different ages and genders, people with disabilities, and people from linguistic, cultural and other minorities. We aim to ensure an accessible recruitment process for everyone. If you need adjustments during the application process or have accessibility-related requests, you can contact us by email at sotepe.monimuotoinen.rekrytointi@hel.fi. Messages are handled separately from the recruiting unit, and contacts are not forwarded to the recruiting manager without the applicant's consent.
