Ivalo Airport is the EU's northernmost airport, with tens of thousands of travelers passing through annually, especially during the winter season when Saariselkä's slopes, tundra landscapes, and northern lights attract visitors from all over Europe. The airport is located in the peace of Lapland, but during the season, the rhythm is anything but slow. We are hiring a Ramp Supervisor for a fixed-term full-time employment at Ivalo Airport for the winter season 2026–2027. As a Ramp Supervisor, you will act as the immediate supervisor for ramp services and be responsible for the daily management of loading personnel and Duty Officers, the smoothness of shifts, and ensuring safe and high-quality operations. You are in an important role creating the conditions for aircraft to depart safely and on schedule even on the busiest season days. Your duties include managing and supporting staff and developing expertise, planning and resourcing daily operational activities, and various administrative supervisory tasks. You will work in close cooperation with airline customers, authorities, and other airport operation stakeholders. Important in this job is: - Ensuring that ramp operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with aviation regulations. - Leading, supporting, and coaching staff in daily work and creating conditions for success. - Active and open communication with various stakeholders. - Ability to make decisions in changing situations and maintain functionality even in the midst of haste. - Proactive coordination of shifts, resources, and operational activities. - Maintaining a relaxed atmosphere that is pleasant to work in. We require from the applicant: - At least 18 years of age. - A clean background (a basic security clearance will be performed for those selected). - At least a B-class driver's license. - Good skills in Finnish and English. - Practical experience in ramp operations or other operational tasks at the airport. - Excellent interaction and cooperation skills. - Good organizational and stress tolerance skills. - Sufficient IT skills. - Initiative, a development approach, and the ability to make independent decisions. - Desire and readiness to develop in personnel management and supervisory work. The Act on Privacy in Working Life applies to the position. The selected person is required to have a passed drug test as part of the pre-employment check. You will succeed in the position if you are a responsible person who enjoys coordinating operational activities and working with people. You want to develop your skills as a supervisor, act exemplarily in everyday life, and can lead operations even amidst haste and changing situations. The work is irregular shift work, and you must have the possibility to move to the airport at all times of the day. There is limited public transport to Ivalo Airport, so your own car or other means of transport is practically essential for commuting to the workplace.
