About the role

Surface Drilling Division within Sandvik Mining is a world leading supplier of surface mining and construction equipment and related services. We are now looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Project Manager to join our division. This key position is a full-time position located in Tampere, Finland. The Project Manager will be working in project as an expat based in Pune, India. About your role You have overall responsibility for product transfer projects between Surface Drilling production units. The scope of the projects spans the entire transfer process from business case analysis to engineering, local supplier strategies, production ramp-ups and knowledge transfer. They can also relate to establishing local supply chains. These projects and project teams include manufacturing, sourcing and engineering. You own and manage the overall project and are accountable for achieving its set goals. You communicate within the division effectively on all project-related matters. About your key responsibilities Project planning and scheduling: Preparation of project scope, timeline, risks, needed resources and engineering work, preliminary sourcing plans and estimates on end product cost Project management: leading cross-functional and cross-cultural teams including manufacturing, engineering, sourcing and product management and intricate management of project stages, especially relating to product cost and timelines Project control: intricate management of project stages, especially relating to product cost and timelines Ensuring effective and issue-free production ramp-up and hand-over to factory operations and ensuring a quality product You support in development and establishment of operational processes at receiving factories About your background and what we find important University degree in a relevant field (B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Engineering) Formal project management training such as PRINCE2 is seen as an advantage Experience in project execution with a solid understanding of successful project delivery Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Excellent financial understanding and experience in production operations in large scale or heavy duty manufacturing, sourcing and engineering Strong background in leading project teams or other leadership experience in international environments Accustomed to working across different cultures and geographies Proactive working style with excellent problem-solving skills Customer-focused approach with commitment to delivering results that meet client expectations What\'s in it for you?
