Mine Planner

We are seeking a Mine Planning Engineer for the Southern Gold Line development project. In the role, you will be responsible for long- and short-term planning and for the project’s safe, feasible and cost-effective progress as part of the development team. You will work closely with experts in geology, metallurgy, geotechnical engineering and the environment. With your expertise, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a project that will shape the future of the Finnish mining industry. Key responsibilities - Prepare and update mining, sequencing and, later, production plans. - Plan the mine layout, haul routes, stockpile and storage areas, and production interfaces. - Once production begins, use production planning to ensure that mining supports the concentrator’s long-term operations and production targets. - Use the geological model, survey data and actual production results in planning. - Produce maps, plans and technical reports to support decision-making and permitting. Workplace and reporting lines At the start of the assignment, your workplace will be either the Pampalo mine in Ilomantsi or Endomines’ head office in Tapiola, Espoo. You will report to the development project manager. In the initial phase, you may work partly remotely, but as the project moves into the construction phase, we require you to be present in Ilomantsi. If you do not live in the area, shared accommodation can be offered if needed. What we expect from you: - A relevant higher-education degree (MSc in engineering / engineering degree) in mining, geology, civil engineering, municipal engineering or another suitable technical field, or equivalent work experience in mine planning. - Approximately 3–5 years of experience in mine, mining or production planning. Experience in open-pit mining is particularly valued. - In addition to Deswik / Surpac software, Excel, GIS or other CAD skills are appreciated. - Good analytical and reporting skills in Finnish and English. In your working style, you are able to see the bigger picture and are analytical and careful. You have good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, and the ability to work efficiently and pragmatically under pressure.
