About the role

ATA Gears is an internationally known manufacturer of bevel gears with a history of nearly 90 years, a modern machine fleet, uncompromising quality and a culture that values people who are passionate about power transmission and development. We are now looking for a CNC machinist for Carnaghi vertical lathes in a permanent position. Key tasks include interpreting drawings, designing fixturing solutions, selecting tooling, and performing demanding CNC turning. CAD/CAM programming is a central part of the job, including writing programs for new work, developing and optimizing existing processes and ensuring end-to-end quality. You will also measure parts, perform quality assurance, and develop and optimize machining methods. We expect you to manage the machining process holistically, see the big picture, and work mainly autonomously with support from experienced colleagues and supervisors.

  • Interpret drawings and create fixturing solutions
  • Select tooling and perform demanding CNC turning
  • CAD/CAM programming; write programs for new work and optimize existing processes; ensure quality from start to finish

  • Work largely autonomously with support from experienced colleagues and supervisors

Requirements

  • Experience with CNC turning and machining of complex parts
  • Previous CNC machining experience and CAD/CAM programming experience
  • Skills in fixturing design and implementation, good drawing reading ability, and metrology/quality assurance
