Our work is based on residents’ individual needs and wishes, and daily life is planned together with them. Our work supports residents’ self-determination and participation, with the aim of enabling everyone to live a meaningful life on their own terms. Uniikki homes provide particularly demanding residential services for people whose everyday lives require strong professional expertise and individual support. Trusting client relationships, a rehabilitative approach and the ability to see each resident’s strengths are central to the work. The social services professional’s work with us The role at Uniikki Koti Kangasala involves varied client work. Together with the rest of the team, you will be responsible for residents’ everyday life running smoothly and for guiding and supporting them individually. Your most important task is to create a safe and meaningful environment where residents can do things that matter to them and experience participation. You will draw on your previous expertise when supporting residents to act safely and regulate their emotions and behaviour, including in challenging situations. The work also includes administering medication, so you should have completed additional medication-care training. The social services professional is also responsible for matters related to self-determination and preparing work for the self-determination working group. In addition, you will cooperate with authorities and residents’ relatives. Employment details The position is permanent and full-time. The social services professional works three shifts. The start date is agreed together. Pay We follow the private social services sector collective agreement. Depending on experience supplements, the basic salary is €2,811.09–€3,071.09 per month under pay grade G24D. We also pay a Uniikki supplement of €205.40 per month. Could you be the right person for the role? We hope you have a social services degree; a social and healthcare professional card, hygiene passport and vaccination protection required by the Communicable Diseases Act; valid medication permits or the ability to obtain them at the beginning of employment; Finnish language skills of at least B2 level (which may need to be demonstrated); readiness to present a criminal-record extract issued within the previous six months before employment begins; and good teamwork skills. Success in the role requires previous experience working with residents who need particularly challenging support, or experience in another demanding work environment such as psychiatry or child protection. Knowledge of different communication methods is an advantage. We also require valid MAPA training completed no more than two years ago, but the employer can provide the training if needed.
