We are hiring a social services professional for a permanent, full-time position at Vihdin Validia-talo, opening toward the end of the year. You will take part in launching the new unit and building its operating culture from its first days. As a social services professional, you play an important role in supporting residents’ everyday lives, participation and individual goals, and in strengthening cooperation with their families and different networks. Vihdin Validia-talo is an 18-place demanding-care unit for clients with intellectual disabilities and clients on the autism spectrum. The unit consists of five group homes and is designed to meet the individual needs of clients requiring demanding support. At the centre of the work are a good life for clients, safe everyday life and a high-quality rehabilitative approach. What does the role involve? As a social services professional, you work as part of a multidisciplinary team and take part in clients’ daily guidance and care. You support residents’ participation, right to self-determination and smooth everyday life, and help them achieve their own goals. Your work also includes network cooperation and contact with residents’ families, wellbeing services county representatives and other partners. You take part in client and network meetings and support residents and their families with applications for different services and benefits and with clarifying related matters. Although social services expertise and network work are emphasised, the work is closely connected to clients’ everyday lives. Together with the rest of the staff, you take part in daily guidance and care and help build the new unit’s practices from the outset. The work is in two shifts, with an emphasis on morning shifts.
