Cost Estimation Engineer

A well-built tomorrow is made together. We are looking for a cost estimation engineer for residential construction in Helsinki or Tampere. As a cost estimation engineer, you will act as the quantity surveyor and price estimator for your own projects, both for in-house production and contract projects. For quantity takeoffs, you will use either completed building information models prepared by designers or, for preliminary estimates, less detailed plans. YIT’s own estimation systems will support your pricing. You will also have the estimation team’s support. During the estimation process, you will work with product management, production and procurement. Your duties include: - Preparing project cost estimates, from quantity takeoffs to pricing, for project start approvals and site target estimates. - Preparing procurement cost estimates from both preliminary drafts and later, more detailed plans with building information models. - Shared development tasks. What will help you succeed in this role: - Suitable education in construction, for example a Master of Science in Technology, construction engineer or construction manager qualification, and previous work experience in construction. - Ability to read plans, and possibly previous experience using building information models in construction. - Possibly experience with quantities purchased from an external provider. - Good IT skills. - Precision, care and persistence.
