Layout Designer

We are seeking an experienced layout designer for electrical substation and transmission solutions. The role covers layout design of substations and STATCOM systems, 3D modelling, and coordinating equipment placement across design interfaces. You will also prepare assembly and installation drawings and support design through project phases. The work is mainly at our client’s premises in Tampere, with a hybrid model of 2–3 days in the office per week. Responsibilities include layout design for substations and transmission solutions, 3D modelling of equipment packages, placement, accessibility, maintainability, space requirements and protection clearances, producing assembly and installation drawings and other technical documentation, supporting BIM coordination and model alignment, collaborating with project team, suppliers, client and site stakeholders, and involvement in tender design, delivery projects, design audits and on-site technical support. We expect strong practical experience with Revit and SolidWorks, experience in layout design and 3D modelling for thermal-electronic projects in substation, transmission or power industry, experience in producing assembly and installation drawings, understanding of equipment placement, interfaces, space and protection distances, solid BIM coordination and model alignment skills, fluent Finnish and English, and an proactive collaborative work style. Bonus points for experience with valve structures, cooling systems, pipelines or on-site installation design and for mechanical integration of substation equipment. The salary for this position is between €4,000–€5,500 per month.
