Group Manager

The job posting outlines a leadership role within AFRY’s water and wastewater process engineering group. The group consists of about ten consultants focusing on processes and technology for water and wastewater treatment plants, as well as sustainability-related topics, REACH, and environmental permit matters. Clients span process industries, primarily Swedish forestry but also mining/metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, and chemical industries. The consultants perform technical investigations, problem solving for existing plants, REACH consortium work, and permit matters, and also work on concept studies and feasibility assessments related to capacity expansions or new builds, often leading to further studies and execution projects with other process engineers and disciplines. The role involves strengthening and developing the group through staff development and recruiting, creating new business in the competence area, and maintaining frequent client contact. Collaboration with other process disciplines locally and globally is important. The duties include coaching and leading consultants, maintaining close dialogue with customers to support ongoing assignments and win new ones, responsibility for recruitment and development of the team, managing the group’s workload, and acting as project leader or project sponsor for group assignments. The role is dynamic, with broad external and internal contacts and a high degree of autonomy under the supervisor. The group is composed of highly capable colleagues; offices are in Göteborg, Karlstad, Linköping, Stockholm, Borlänge, Falun, Härnösand. Placement can be in Stockholm or at other major offices.
