We are seeking a family counselor for a permanent employment relationship. Family counseling in the Central Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County forms a tight independent entity that is functionally integrated with other services for families with children and the Wellbeing Services County. The family counselor belongs physically to the municipality-specific family counseling team of Keusote in Nurmijärvi, which includes other family counselors. Work is carried out primarily in the family's home, meeting the family in different compositions. Keusote operated as a joint municipal authority for four years before the wellbeing area started, so the transition to the wellbeing area has not disrupted the work processes of family social work. You can therefore peacefully focus on doing your own work together with nice and experienced colleagues. In the work group, there are strong ready-made, but if necessary living and flexibly developable structures for supporting others within the work group, and for taking care of community and well-being at work. In everyday life, there are structures for regular discussions between the supervisor and professional staff, which enable close interaction. The orientation program for new employees is clear and extensive, and in addition to the supervisor, the work community and experts participate centrally in the orientation. The central task of family counselors is to support parenthood and family interaction. The need for child support is assessed continuously during the work. The child's best interest, hearing, and being understood guide the work. Key themes of family counseling according to the Social Welfare Act are parenthood, internal family interaction, early interaction, relationship problems, supporting the child's growth and development, life management, as well as substances and mental health as challenges of parenthood. Family counselors start working based on goals arising from within the family. The task is to model goal-oriented ways of acting for clients using rehabilitative and functional methods. Cooperation is carried out in networks as needed. In addition, the work includes various group activities. Client work is planned and goal-oriented. The family counselor's task requires up-to-date and formal documentation. The work includes developing one's own work as well as providing consultation and expert assistance to cooperating parties. Eligibility requirements: A degree of higher education in social services (e.g., Bachelor of Social Services/Sosionomi AMK) or an earlier institute-level degree. In addition, legalization according to the Act on Social Care Professionals (817/2015) is required. Additional training that can be utilized in the position is considered an advantage. Expectations from the applicant: The work requires a driver's license and the ability and willingness to drive a car. Experience in family counseling is valued. Family counseling requires the ability to model basic child care, strong knowledge of the growth and development of children and adolescents, and mastery of work methods for supporting parenthood and relationships. Additionally, the work requires planning skills, creativity, organizational ability, and especially good interaction, cooperation, and meeting skills. Dialogical skills are emphasized. Work is done based on the client's resources, considering the entire family's interaction system. The work requires self-direction as well as team and network work skills. You need excellent interaction skills and the ability to get along with children and their families in various situations, the ability to act in rapidly changing situations, a positive and resource-based approach to work, good teamwork skills, and a positive attitude towards development. Position-specific salary is €3,413.25/month. We pay an addition based on work experience. Vaccination protection required by Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis clearance according to Section 55 are required for direct patient and client work. The selected person must present a criminal record extract according to Act No. 504/2002 (Act on the checking of the criminal background of persons working with children) no later than 30 days after the selection decision is notified. A drug test will be performed on the selected person. A probationary period applies. Original study and work certificates are presented during a possible interview.
